Biography
Dr. Nabil Younes is an Assistant Professor of Civil Engineering at Beirut Arab University, specializing in Geotechnical Engineering. He has international academic experience in France, Canada, and Lebanon, having taught at different universities across undergraduate, graduate, and doctoral levels. Before joining Beirut Arab University, he served as an Assistant Professor at the University of Montpellier, France. His academic career combines teaching, scientific research, student supervision, and international research collaborations.
Research Interests
Dr. Younes’ research interests focus on computational geomechanics, soil micromechanics, and the hydro-mechanical behavior of partially saturated granular materials. His work involves numerical modeling at the particle and pore scales, particularly using the Discrete Element Method (DEM), Lattice Boltzmann Method (LBM), and coupled LBM–DEM simulations to investigate capillary phenomena, interparticle interactions, and the mechanical behavior of granular soils.
